Canada’s only non-partisan national summit focused on electoral democracy is coming to Montreal, May 20-21, 2025! The Canadian Vote Summit provides a unique space for leaders, policymakers, and citizens to collaborate on ensuring elections drive responsive, inclusive governance.
The 2025 theme is Power of Participation.
The Summit will address:
- Trust, Governance & Electoral Democracy: Fostering public trust, reducing polarization, and promoting civic responsibility.
- Pathways to Participation & Innovation: Exploring inclusion, from municipal engagement to AI’s role in voting.
- Lessons from Elections, National & Global: Insights from Canada’s 2024 elections and international best practices for resilient electoral processes.
Who Should Attend: Policy-makers, Civic leaders, election officials, academics, and anyone committed to democracy.

Important Dates to Remember
Provincial Elections:
- Provincial Election Day: June 2nd 2022
- First date to submit nominations: Nominations can be submitted anytime
- Last Day to submit nomination by email and such: May 3rd 2022
- Last day to submit nomination to local Returning Officer: May 12 2022
Municipal Elections:
- 1st date to submit candidacy: May 2nd 2022
- Last date to submit candidacy: August 19th 2022, 2pm (also last day to withdraw a candidacy)
- Candidates are certified: August 22nd
- Municipal Elections: Oct 24th 2022, 10am -8pm (subject to local rules)
