CODE TO SUCCESS: BLACK HISTORY IN STEM

Join The Guelph Black Heritage Society and The Let’s Talk Science Black Volunteer Collective as they present The Code to Success: Black History in STEM event.

Come Celebrate the success of Black scientists throughout history while learning essential concepts in computer coding with hands-on activities led by Let’s Talk Science Guelph and The Black Volunteer Collective. Participants will learn how computers think with screen-less coding activities using ozobot mini robots while also learning about the Black scientists that paved the way for science and technology today!

Activities will be suitable for youth k-8,  25 spaces are available.  Register for free, donations are welcome.  Donations go towards the GBHS Heart & Soul Campaign.  The Heritage Hall Heart & Soul Campaign is a significant fundraising effort to expand and revitalize resources and programming at the GBHS.

Provincial Elections:

  •     Provincial Election Day: June 2nd 2022
  •     First date to submit nominations: Nominations can be submitted anytime
  •     Last Day to submit nomination by email and such: May 3rd 2022
  •     Last day to submit nomination to local Returning Officer: May 12 2022

Municipal Elections:

  •     1st date to submit candidacy:  May 2nd 2022
  •     Last date to submit candidacy: August 19th 2022, 2pm (also last day to withdraw a candidacy)
  •     Candidates are certified: August 22nd
  •     Municipal Elections: Oct 24th 2022, 10am -8pm (subject to local rules)
