Run4OfficeWR has launched Project 3000 to strengthen civic engagement by registering 3,000 new voters from visible minority communities across the Region of Waterloo. Our message is simple, “if you are not at the table, you are on the menu.” Our ultimate goal is for all community members to participate in the electoral process.
Thousands of eligible voters from visible minority communities in the Waterloo Region remain unregistered. Many face overlapping barriers that limit their ability to participate in the electoral process. .
Project 3000 initiative aims to close this gap by increasing overall voter turnout compared to the last election, while also encouraging individuals from visible minority communities to run for public office.
To achieve this goal, Run4OfficeWR is collaborating with grassroot community organizations and/or individuals to spread the word and provide resources and tools to not only register to vote but to participate in the electoral process during elections. Through grassroots conversations and community outreach, we are working to ensure every voice has the opportunity to be heard.
Thousands of eligible residents in Waterloo Region are not registered to vote. This can happen for many reasons — recent moves, new citizenship, lack of information, or barriers to engagement.
Project 3000 is a grassroots initiative by Run4OfficeWR designed to close that gap.
We are mobilizing volunteers, sharing resources, and hosting community outreach events to help 3,000 new voters register before the next election.
